COW (2873)

Cows are referred to as the foster mothers of the human race because they produce most of the milk that people drink. The first cow in America arrived in Jamestown colony in 1611. Until the 1850's, nearly every family had its own cow. The first regular shipment of milk by railroad was between Orange County, New York, and New York City and began in 1841. In 1856, Gail Borden invented the condensed milk process. This process removed some of the water from milk so it would take up less space. Refrigeration came into use in 1880, and the first pasteurizing machine was introduced in 1895. Our Hand Puppet Cow here is obviously amused by those facts. We can only add that she is 14 inches tall, easy to work but difficult to milk. Click on the image for a larger, more detailed image.

MOOTY MOO COW #02333

Mooty is the Great Granddaughter of "Daisy" who was one of the spokescows for a large West Coast dairy. Her species is notable for its physiology which incorporates a stomach with 4 separate chambers. Because of this, she spends a great deal of her time grazing in order to keep those chambers full. This fortunately leaves little time for conversation. Fortunate because Mooty's vocabularly when we last checked, consisted of just a single word "Moo." Mooty is 12 inches tall.

MOO-TILDA COW (201)

Moo-tilda was always a very brilliant calf and she is still the most inventive cow we've ever met. Last month she ate 16 chocolate bars in an effort to produce chocolate milk. When that failed, she went into the hardware store and sat down on the paint can shaker in an attempt to make butter. She tried the same thing with ice cubes trying to generate ice cream and that didn't work out either (however she did remark that the experience was very relaxing). Moo-tilda Cow is 12 inches tall and has a very expressive movable mouth. Click on the image for a more detailed picture of Moo-tilda.
